In wholesale and distribution, WhatsApp is already the primary channel between a distributor and their retailer network — FMCG traders, textile wholesalers, pharma distributors, hardware suppliers, and industrial goods dealers all run orders through it today. The problem isn’t the channel, it’s that most of it is unstructured: scattered chats, manually updated price lists, and orders tracked in a spreadsheet on the side.
What this looks like structured
- A catalog dealers can browse inside the chat — current stock and pricing, not a PDF price list that goes stale the moment prices change.
- Bulk order placement with instant confirmation — a dealer picks quantities and the order is confirmed immediately, no back-and-forth to check what’s available.
- Automatic invoice generation — an invoice gets created the moment an order is confirmed, not assembled manually afterward.
- Real-time delivery tracking — dealers know where their order is without calling to check.
- Dealer-level account management — pricing tiers, order history, and standing relationships tracked per dealer, not re-explained on every order.
Why this is a different buyer than our other WhatsApp commerce work
WhatsApp catalog checkout and kirana and local retail ordering are both consumer-facing — a shopper buying for themselves. This is trade-to-trade: a distributor selling to a network of retailers or dealers who reorder regularly, at volume, often on account rather than paying per order. Different relationship, different flow.
Why this isn’t the same as the D2C/ecommerce dead end
D2C/ecommerce automation showed zero organic signal across three separate rounds of keyword testing — that’s a different category entirely (online-only consumer brands). Wholesale and distribution is a B2B trade relationship where WhatsApp is already the established channel of choice, not something being tested for the first time.
Where this fits
Built on the same WhatsApp Business API Provider foundation as everything else. Tell us how your dealer network currently orders and we’ll show you what structuring it looks like.
